Just recently. scientists were able to collect the first-ever sample martian rock through the use of NASA's Perseverance Mars rover on September 6th and September 8th. They have already begun to do an analysis on the rocks and have found that “It looks like our first rocks reveal a potentially habitable sustained environment,” said Ken Farley of Caltech.
One piece of evidence to support this is the fact that NASA found salts in these rocks. Scientists estimate this may be because the water evaporated leaving the salt. These findings are showing evidence for life on MarsNot only that but the rover (NASA Perseverance Rover) that was able to collect these samples was spotted by NASA's Ingenuity helicopter. Now, this isn't just a random helicopter this helicopter was on Flight Plan 11 which was supposed to be ahead of the rover in order to photograph what was happening in the air.
Hopefully, through the continued research and exploration of this mysterious Red planet, we will be able to go there in just a few decades.
