Alfred North Whitehead said, “Art is imposing a pattern on experience and our aesthetic enjoyment in an understanding of that pattern.” When we reveal our art to other people, we free them from themselves and make them feel what we felt by offering them our ideas, our sentiments, and a part of us as a sense of liberation. In today’s world, where our body has become more of a mechanical tool, such liberation is the only way mankind can escape from reality, that is, the busy life.
Nowadays, people don't just look for pleasing sceneries, the choices and trends have changed, people want to see complexities and uncertainties in poetry, music, paintings, etc. to come out of their loneliness. In these times, when hardly one talks about his/her struggles, it's important to find our real selves through different mediums. And there is nothing more strengthening than knowing that someone out there, someone you have never met, has been through the same rollercoaster as you as relatability is the strongest form of connection.
Therefore, ambition in art helps us, at the same time, find ourselves and lose ourselves. So when the question arrives that why do people read books? watch movies? create art? The very accurate answer is because it makes them feel different ranges of emotions and indulge in different mindsets. It reminds them, during their busy lives, that they are still alive and capable of having their feelings shared.
Lastly, we should never forget that it takes a lot of courage to create art as art represents one's complete personality, which has qualities as well as flaws, and not showcases a perfect character. Surely, art has evolved to a great extent, but its symbolization has always been connecting people through their sentiments and it is the greatest gift mankind could have had.
